Position- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse
Location-
Lowville, NY
Shift-
12 Hours (Night)
Contract- 13 weeks (Extension Availability)
Pay- $1450/h for local and $1600/h for travel
Guaranteed Hours- 40 hrs. a week

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in healthcare by providing compassionate patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. The LPN assists with basic medical procedures, administers medications, and monitors patient health and progress. With a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, the LPN collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provide direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living and performing basic nursing care procedures.

2. Administer medications, ensure accurate dosages, and monitor their effects, while adhering to established protocols.

3. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities to RNs or physicians.

4. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

5. Assist with patient assessments, screenings, and education regarding health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.

6. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.

7. Assist registered nurses or physicians in specialized medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterizations, and phlebotomy.

8. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.

9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care conferences.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Must hold a valid LPN license.

2. Completion of an accredited LPN program.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

6. Proficient in medical record documentation and electronic health systems.

12. CPR certification.
