Job Title: RN L&D (Labor and Delivery)
Job Summary:
The RN L&D is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to pregnant women before, during, and after childbirth. This includes monitoring the mother and baby's vital signs, administering medications, assisting with labor and delivery, and educating new parents on newborn care. The RN L&D plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both mother and baby during the childbirth process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor mother and baby's vital signs during labor
- Assist with the delivery of newborns and provide immediate postpartum care
- Administer medications as needed
- Educate new parents on newborn care and breastfeeding
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure a safe and positive childbirth experience
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Provide emotional support to mothers and families during labor and delivery
- Assist with emergency situations and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress situations
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Labor and Delivery care
