Job Summary:
As an OB RN specializing in labor, delivery, and postpartum care, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers throughout the childbirth process. Your role will include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting with delivery, and providing education and support to new mothers during the postpartum period.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the progress of labor
2. Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
3. Provide newborn care and support to new parents
4. Educate patients on prenatal and postpartum care
5. Administer medications and perform medical procedures as needed
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
7. Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent
3. Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
4. BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
7. Compassion and empathy towards patients and their families
