Job Summary:
As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - Medical Surgical (MS) - Medical Technologist (MT), you will be responsible for providing direct care to patients in the medical-surgical unit and assisting with laboratory testing and analysis. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses and medical technologists to ensure the well-being and safety of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, and mobility
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormal findings to the nursing staff
- Collect and process laboratory specimens for testing
- Perform various laboratory tests and analyses, such as blood counts and urinalysis
- Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and test results
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CNA certification
- Experience in a medical-surgical setting preferred
- Medical Technologist certification (MT) required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
