Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. This position requires a strong understanding of maternal-fetal health, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery
2. Administer medications and anesthesia as needed
3. Assist physicians during procedures such as cesarean sections and episiotomies
4. Educate patients on prenatal care, birthing options, and newborn care
5. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the childbirth experience
6. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BSN degree preferred
3. Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is a plus
4. Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
